Chinese and Catalan students share a cultural exchange week sponsored by the China Bridge Foundation and the College of Doctors and Graduates

Today at Jesuïtes Sarrià - Sant Ignasi school we have welcomed a group of 48 students, 24 from China and 24 Catalans, as part of a cultural exchange sponsored by the China Bridge Foundation and the College of Doctors and Graduates in Philosophy, Arts and Sciences of Catalonia.

During their stay in Barcelona, this group of students has taken part in various cultural and educational activities such as visits to the Sagrada Familia and Park Güell (featuring a workshop on Catalan Art Nouveau led by Jesuïtes Gràcia teachers), the Colonia Güell, the former cathedral la Seu Vella in Lleida and Montserrat. Official activities have also been run including a visit to the Chinese consulate, where one of our students was able to give a short talk to the other attendees.

After a week packed with cultural and educational activities, we kicked off today with a visit to Barcelona City Council's Saló de Cent. The students then came to our school where they had the chance to engage in a range of fun activities: a treasure hunt around the school, a refreshing dip in the swimming pool and even a Zumba class!

The events today bring to a close a week chock-full of cultural and educational activities and also conclude the second stage of an international exchange in which the students have benefited from a rewarding experience, sharing values, friendship, languages and customs which have enabled them to open their eyes to the world.
