Today, Thursday 20th November, we are celebrating World Children’s Day. And we want to do so by focusing on the fundamental right to Peace that so many children in the world cannot enjoy. And without peace, all their other rights are violated too. There are currently 56 active wars, apart from those already known in Ukraine, Gaza, Syria, Sudan, South Sudan, Central African Republic, Ethiopia...
That is why today, at all stages of our Jesuit Education schools, we are launching the day for peace. We are inviting educators and school staff to make a gesture through a Prayer Circle for Peace with a minute's silence. We want this gesture to be a step forward in the commitment to peace, helping people who are suffering as a result of armed conflicts and educating the children and young people in our school in favour of peace.
