On one side, Arnau has just completed a 10-day immersion at Saint Peter’s school. His exchange partner, Luis, will come next academic year for a 10-day stay with us as well.
On the other side, Phil (a student from Saint Peter’s) has spent five weeks at Sant Ignasi, carrying out an immersion with his partner, Jaime, who is in 1st year of Upper Secondary. This summer, Jaime will do a 5-week stay in New Jersey, taking an American culture course at Saint Peter’s.
The aim of these stays and exchanges goes far beyond practising English. It is to develop our students’ global citizenship competence through a genuine, real-life immersion in the partner schools. We want our students to take part in the everyday life of their peers, to discover what it really means to study in a completely different school, and to feel like one more student among them, actively joining in school life and attending classes just as everyone else does.
We hope to keep offering this kind of international experience, both with Saint Peter’s Prep and with other partner schools around the world.
