Exchange in Edinburgh

A magical, fun and exciting experience!

A month ago, a group of 13 2nd-year ESO-NEI students participated in the exchange with George Watson’s College in Edinburgh. During their stay in Scotland, the students were able to experience what it is like to attend a Scottish school, enjoy the wonderful landscapes of the city, and discover the charms of Scottish culture.

Upon their return, the 2nd year ESO-NEI students shared with us the highlights of this experience:

  • On the academic programme and activities

Among other activities, we went on a city tour, visited Edinburgh Castle, and climbed windy hills (Arthur’s Seat). But it wasn't all tourism: We also went to George Watson’s College, alongside our exchange students, and attended classes with them.

  • Family life

During my stay there, there were so many things I couldn’t have possibly learnt or experienced if I went there as a tourist and not as an Exchange Student. I took part in many activities such as visiting my partner’s dance competition or playing Halloween games on All Hallows' Eve. I really enjoyed being able to take part in classes at a Scottish school, as it opened my eyes to more possibilities.

MAGIC

The families, the programme, the organisation of the exchange... everything made for an incredible and fun experience. Being with the families was a pleasure for everyone. Getting to know the culture and spending time with our new friends was, without a doubt, a magical experience.

FUN

For me, the trip to Scotland was a great experience. I had a very good time, especially because of the people from there. Everyone was so nice, and I think that it wouldn’t have been the same without them. We had lots of fun moments on the trip: on the bus, at the school, on the plane... In general, that week was full of laughter and happiness, and I have really good memories of Edinburgh.

EXCITING

Scotland was an incredible experience full of excitement, knowledge and fun! I am also very excited for my partner to come to Barcelona, and I hope to stay in touch with her!

The Scottish students will be welcomed to our school in March. We hope to be able to share with them our daily lives both at home and at school, our customs and ways of doing things, our city and the charms it holds. Above all, we hope that it will also be a magical, fun and exciting experience for all of them.
