UB-Santander Award for Upper Secondary Research Projects

In the 2025 UB-Santander Awards, Jana Escolano, a Year 2 Upper Secondary student at Sant Ignasi, has picked up second prize in the pharmacy faculty for her project YES, IT'S A SWEET! Making medicinal sweets by 3D printing supervised by Alba Solé, a teacher at the school.

The University of Barcelona (UB) holds the UB-Santander Awards for the best upper secondary research projects in the Faculties of the University of Barcelona to reward the efforts of upper secondary students in learning and research while also forging and cementing ties with secondary schools.

The call's purpose is to acknowledge upper secondary research projects submitted in the UB-Santander Award categories of the faculties of the University of Barcelona and projects related to the undergraduate degrees taught in these faculties.

This year, 939 research projects were entered in 17 categories matching the 17 faculties of the University of Barcelona and 90 prizes were presented.

The awards ceremony was held on 10 July in the auditorium of the Historic Building at the University of Barcelona.
