The Kangaroo Test is an annual maths event run as an individual competition sponsored by the international association Le Kangourou sans Frontières, which seeks to encourage maths among young people and children by getting as many as possible involved in a scientific activity.
One of the main goals of these tests is to stimulate and motivate learning maths through problems. The tests consist of problems of increasing difficulty and with multiple-choice answers.
As specified in the official announcement of the competition, the 15 entrants at each level with the best scores make up the list of winners in the Kangaroo Tests 2025.
The awards ceremony for the Kangaroo Tests 2025 was held on Tuesday, 20 May at the Fira de Barcelona Conference Centre in Montjuïc.
The Kangaroo Awards were set up in Catalonia in 1996 for Catalan-speaking territories following the example of Kangorou, a maths game devised in France in 1991 which was inspired by the model of the Australian national competition (hence its name). It has now spread to over 30 countries and brings together more than 6 million registered students.
