Week of Kindness, Respect and Care 2026: Drown out the noise. Listen (to take care)

Sant Ignasi, together with the other Jesuïtes Educació schools, joins the celebration of the Week of Kindness, Respect and Care, an initiative promoted by Jesuitas España which invites us to reflect on the importance of building a safe, respectful and humane environment in all our educational communities.

In 2026, the week is celebrated under the motto 'Drown out the noise: listen (to take care)', an invitation to stop for a moment amidst the accelerated pace of everyday life to really listen.

Listening to take care

We live in a world of noise: constant stimuli, rushing around, conflicting opinions. As such, listening becomes an essential act to take care of our relationships and foster our wellbeing.

Listening attentively, empathetically and respectfully implies recognising the other person, giving them space and creating bonds based on trust. Listening is, ultimately, a way of caring.

This week encourages us to:

  • Listen without interrupting, valuing what the other person has to say
  • Listen to understand, without making judgements
  • Listen to welcome, creating a space of safety and trust

Building safe spaces

The Week of Kindness, Respect and Care is part of the Society of Jesus' commitment to promoting safe spaces, where everyone feels respected, listened to and protected.

From the Foundation's schools and centres, different awareness-raising activities will be carried out throughout the week to get the message out and promote a culture based on respect, coexistence and mutual care.

An invitation to the whole community

The Foundation encourages the entire educational community—students, families and teachers—to actively participate in this week and the days leading up to it, sharing reflections and experiences that help to give visibility to the value of listening.

Small gestures such as paying attention, creating inner silence or listening with the heart can transform relationships and contribute to building a more just and humane society.

🚦 Week of Kindness, Respect and Care in Early Childhood Education

This week, within the framework of the Week of Kindness, Respect and Care, Early Childhood Education students have been working on a very important topic: learning to recognise what makes us feel good… and what doesn’t.

Through a very visual and easy-to-understand symbol, the traffic light, we have been able to express emotions, experiences and situations from our daily lives.

🟢 The green traffic light has helped us identify actions, words and attitudes that make us feel happy, loved and respected.

🔴 The red traffic light, on the other hand, has helped us talk about situations that we don’t like, that make us feel sad or angry.

It has been a week full of sincere conversations, learning and beautiful moments. The children participated very naturally, demonstrating that, from a very young age, they are capable of reflecting on respect, care and coexistence.

We continue to sow, day by day, the values that will help them grow with empathy, self-esteem and confidence.

In Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form, various activities have been carried out: shared reflections and videos at the beginning of the day adapted to each year group, coexistence activities and the reading of the manifesto.
