This weekend has been very special for the boys and girls in Year 3 Lower Secondary from the Jesuïtes Kostka, Jesuïtes Sant Gervasi and Jesuïtes Casp schools. On Sunday in Lleida and on Tuesday at Jesuïtes Sarrià - Sant Ignasi and Casal Loiola, we celebrated together the Renewal of Faith, a significant moment in our students' personal and spiritual journey. A total of 45 students from Sant Ignasi took part who have been preparing in monthly sessions for eight months.
Accompanied by their families, the young people expressed their personal and committed wish to continue deepening their faith and become more aware of what it means to live according to the values of the Gospel. It was an accessible, moving and meaningful celebration which connects with the shared mission of our educational network: to guide each student in their comprehensive growth process.
Our goal with events like this one is to keep on offering venues that enable our young people to build their identity based on an open, free and committed vision, and for families to share and support these key moments in the educational and spiritual life of their children.
The Eucharist collection at Sant Ignasi raised €808.40 which will go to the social projects of the Society of Jesus.
Here is what some of the students had to say:
Over the course of this year we have done several education sessions on the Renewal of Faith, once a month for an hour. In these sessions we did various activities, such as listening to a song or reading a biblical text. We also had the chance to enjoy other sessions with Silver or hearing Upper Secondary students at the school talk about their experience with God. If I had to choose one day, it would be the last one, the final Eucharist. It was a very special day when all the students who were doing the Renewal of Faith were able to share this celebration, saying yes once again to our baptismal promises. I take away very fond memories of this experience.

I chose to take the Renewal of Faith because my family is Christian and it was my "turn" to do it now. Although I'd thought that the preparation sessions would be just talking about the Bible and explaining it, they were completely different. We talked about personal goals and how to lead a good Christian life. At the end of all the sessions we had the Eucharist in the school church, which was attended by our grandparents, parents and even our brothers and sisters. I really enjoyed the day and will always remember it.
