Let's celebrate: learning node for celebration and end of the year!

The children in EC3, 4 and 5 have worked on the Let's celebrate node.

At the end of the year, we look back with gratitude and discover that we have grown a lot personally and also as a community; we have learned many things and made new connections. Now it's time to celebrate!

The primary goals of this node are to thank the community and its members, display what we have learned over the course of the year and enhance the MOPI community.

Celebrating is part of every community and we do it in a variety of ways:

By taking part in the motor skills workshop/circuit designed, organised and led by TQE students (Lower Secondary Years 3 and 4).

Saying goodbye in Early Childhood to MOPI 5 children and celebrating their progress to Primary in the chapel.

In this Node, we review everything we have learned during the year and celebrate that we have reached its end.

Nodes are a methodological proposal based on project-based work. Children become the builders of their own learning through play, research and relationships with classmates, exploring according to their interests. They make the decisions and seek their own strategies to find solutions to the challenges and situations they encounter, while the adult acts as a guide. Work is conducted in inter-society communities to solve major and relevant challenges, thus promoting social relations and responding to the different maturity rates.

The nodes are carried out over a number of stages:

  • STAGE I: Eliciting

There is someone who would like to know what we do in our MOPI communities. We will have to share our experiences throughout this year, and there have been a lot of them!

  • STAGE II: Asking ourselves questions

Can we remember what we have done and learned? And what we have experienced? Have we made new friends? Do we know each other better?

  • STAGE III: Researching

We have done lots of things and will need to find ways to help us remember and relive them. We will also discover that with friends we can go further than if we do it on our own.

  • STAGE IV: Applying

We will use a variety of materials and forms to put together a compilation showing what we have done and what we have shared during the year.

  • STAGE V: Communicating

We will share with and thank the whole MOPI community for what we have experienced. In particular, we will say goodbye to our older classmates in the community who are now on their way to PIN.

  • STAGE VI: Reflecting

In each community, we will realise that we have all been important, we have helped others and we have been helped. We will thank our friend Jesus for the road we have travelled.
