Greenpeace partners with GreenPIN and families

In the week of 10 February, Year 3 PIN classes had the chance to interview two Greenpeace volunteers to learn about why they work with this NGO and their concerns about the sustainability of our planet Earth and also pick up tips on how we can help to curb these problems.

This is the second year that Corinne and Jóse have visited us to help the GreenPIN team. Last year they came to give a talk to raise awareness about how to use water properly. This time round it was with a different approach which we also liked.

Before their visit, Year 3 PIN pupils held an assembly to find out about the Greenpeace NGO and get ready for the event.

Immediately after their introduction, we watched the trailer of a documentary about the Antarctic Ocean Sanctuary which prompted a lively discussion.

Corinne is a trainer in Greenpeace's education division while Jóse, apart from being the grandfather of one of our Year 3 PIN pupils, is an activist volunteer with Greenpeace. Both spend their free time voluntarily and enthusiastically working with the NGO to help raise awareness about the importance of conserving the environment.

After the session we asked our families to take a survey from Greenpeace with the goal of contributing to a greener and more sustainable Sant Ignasi and planet.

A few days ago, Corinne and Jóse came back to see us again together with another volunteer, Laia, to share the survey's results and congratulate the GreenPIN team for everything they are doing at home and at school to make our environment more sustainable.

They encouraged us to keep up the good work and do even more in our daily lives to prevent global warming and climate change.

A big thank you to Corinne, Jóse and Laia!
