Settling into the school in Nursery

The first few days in Nursery 1 and Nursery 2 are packed with new emotions and discoveries for both the children and their families alike. Starting school can often be a time of nerves and uncertainty, which is why the welcome process is our starting point.

At these ages, settling in can be especially challenging: many children are experiencing their first ever daily separation from their family and need time, calm and a lot of reassurance to feel at ease. After a short while, some start to show interest in the materials and spaces and are keen to explore them. Others need more hugs, sympathetic looks and comforting to start taking their first steps in this new environment.
