Upper secondary participation in mini-company competitions

The students of RUNNING A BUSINESS in the 1st year of the upper secondary school have taken part in two mini-company competitions:

Junior Achievement(Catalan final)

Jóvenes Emprendedores of Nebrija University (Madrid).

The MOBSAFE project (a mobile-linked anti-theft wristband) created by Alba, Sofia, Oriol, Oscar and Marc, 1st year upper secondary students; and the HumiTech project (a dehumidifying drone) created by Carlos, Guillermo, Jaume and Guillermo; took part in the Catalonia final of the Junior Achievement competition held in Barcelona on 17 April.

Both projects, undertaken within the framework of the Running a Business course, were among the 15 best projects out of the hundred or so that were presented in Catalonia.

Junior Achievement is a competition offering an opportunity to develop creative thinking, communication skills, initiative, dedication and commitment, as well as to strengthen autonomy, motivation and the spirit of achievement.

Meanwhile, the mini-company projects, also created within the framework of the Running a Business course, DROP TO GROW by studentsMaría Méndez, Inés De Toca, Marian Safa, María Tárrega and Blanca Colom; AQUA RUNNERS by studentsPablo Betorz, Gonzalo Mestres, Pep Casas and Joan Pellisé; and HumiTech by studentsCarlos Balañá, Guillermo Belloso, Jaume Bonet, Guillermo Romagosa; have been selected to participate in the XXVI Jóvenes Emprendedores (Young Entrepreneurs)competition of Nebrija University in Madrid.

Nebrija University, in collaboration with several companies and institutions, organises the Young Entrepreneurs Award every year, with the aim of promoting the entrepreneurial spirit among Baccalaureate and Vocational Studies students.

The Jóvenes Emprendedores (Young Entrepreneurs) contest is intended to give young pre-university students the opportunity to showcase their entrepreneurial abilities, creativity, organisation and enthusiasm by defining and conceptualising a business creation project.

Conceiving an idea, developing a business idea, evaluating investment alternatives, defending proposals before a panel of experts... these are some of the challenges that the participants must overcome.

These contests are excellent opportunities to grow academically and personally.
